I have had a bit of trouble with my internet provider with the past 24 hours and deactivated my account. Michelle and i were finished with the assignments last night and i tried reactivating my account once more using their easy 24 hour line and no dice on their part. This morning i managed to pass three hours just waiting for them to pick up my line for the reactivation process and tadah! We're posting up our work right now!

| "Draw ya' dirty Varment!" For me southwest was a bit difficult to pinpoint as to "What" made southwest, the Southwest. To me the southwest was more keen to the "western" theme to the southwest. Needless to say that the logo was more creative toward the theme of southwest. |
1) When I thought of corporate then looked at your design, I thought you made a design to fit into a tie. Was a neat idea. The use of INC could be taken out but this would lose the connection to corporate. the design has to be strong enough so as you don't need the INC. Perhaps a ladder could be incorporated to show the message of climbing it with the shape of a triangle. The diamond shape (I feel) doesn't speak loudly like a triangle could. If you take out the INC then you wouldn't need that space, then making it into a triangle which shows a sturdy feel like trustworthiness and strong. This would also show the structure of the employees and staff, with a boss at the top and everyone else to support him. I really believe a triangle would push this piece a little more.
ReplyDelete2) Cool, a little Journey here with Batman. The roundness here makes it feel like the bat is holding an orb, which leads me to think of globe or earth. The batman however can be tweak just a bit to show a little more batman. I saw a little more of Robin than batman when not using some points that make the bat wings. Perhaps adding one to each side to show a prominent bat wing not a birds wing. Also the space around the letters could show a design of maybe the continents of earth or of some kind of world. The letters do give a hippy dippy feel of the 70's. The letters could also be tweaked around the lines. There is a thicker stroke that goes around both letters and try to make the same size for the negative space the same. Very well balanced overall.
3) Sorry but this needs to have more work done. You did too much work on the gun than the actual logo. The gun is secondary when southwest needs to be IN the logo. Perhaps you could incorporate guns into the design though, like the guns could become like the cross bones on a bones and skull image. Then it could have a sherif badge feel when you place this new logo onto a badge, buckle or onto another gun. Guns and batman sound good together, at least you have a start. Don't stop now.
1 - It can be pushed further. Rather than closing in the bat in a diamond ladder thing why not try shaping the wings into the shape of the diamond thing? Typeface is very "pixies grey, grey, and more grey business corporate." It works fine and I think it would be still recognizable even at a smaller scale but did you really have to add the inc? Was it meant to point out its a corporate logo?!
ReplyDelete2 - Not really getting a hippie feeling from the logo. It needs more color - fill in the earth or the bat! Its too outlined making the eyes search a little longer to distinguish the shapes from each another. Makes me thing of world domination rather than environmentalist or were you aiming for those environmentalist "terrorist" who think the human race should be wiped out to save the earth and the remaining 10% should be ruled under them on one continent (BM landmass)???
3 - you need to work on the end of the barrel more cause its a bit off. Other than that I think a branded look with the BM you have at the base of the gun (and possibly a tiny bat added to it) would work better standing alone than with the whole gun. It would have the western look and feel to it more. Hurry push it further.
